ABOUT US
Dean’s Printnframe.
Dean’s Printnframe are picture framers and Giclee printers in Shailer Park, Queensland since October of 2002. Dean’s Printnframe are picture framing specialists with a former framing retail outlet (Dean’s Picture Framing) in Melbourne for 20 years which is still operating under new ownership. We at Printnframe have a wealth of experience in the framing industry, moulding design, moulding manufacturing and distribution as well as the ever popular Giclee printing process.
Giclee Printing.
Producing Giclee images as one offs or as limited editions have proved to be an interesting and exciting inclusion to the Dean’s Printnframe folio. The Giclee process is explained further on and the Gallery of works is visible by clicking on Gallery.
Custom Framing.
With over 30 years of experience, we can offer a customer exactly what they need. Sometimes a moulding is not just right for an item but we go out of our way to colour tone a moulding to suit their needs. Almost anything can be framed these days, as can be seen from our framing gallery. We know we are on the right track when a repeat customer has the confidence to walk in and leave the artwork or item to be framed to our choice. Reputation, recommendation and repeat customers are how we achieve our standards.
Chop Service.
Dean’s Printnframe offer a chop service to the public. To order a chop service simply contact office@deans.com.au or phone or fax the office, quoting the moulding desired, size of the frame and the staff at Dean’s will cut the lengths required and dispatch them to you for assembly.
Mouldings.
Dean’s Printnframe have timber and synthetic mouldings in their range. Many of Dean’s Printnframe mouldings are unique in colour and design to us. They capture the Australian landscape as the pallete for their design. The synthetic range of mouldings are also available in colours as well as timber look, gold and silver foils. They are environmentally friendly made from recycled plastics, lighter but just as strong, consistent and are of excellent quality.
Giclee Prints.
(zhee-clay) - Derived from the french verb gicler meaning to squirt. Images are high resolution digital scans printed with archival quality inks onto various mediums. The Giclee process provides better colour accuracy than other means of reproduction.
Giclee Print on Canvas or Paper.
The French term “Giclee” (pronounced ZHEE-CLAY) meaning the spraying of ink, is often used to describe these prints. Like offset lithographs, our Giclee prints start with the original artwork.
The original or a transparency of the original is scanned into a computer where it can be colour corrected stored digitally and printed out. A series of tiny nozzles spray the canvas or paper with a fine stream of ink. Because there are no line screens involved Giclee prints have a higher resolution than offset lithographs (about 1800 dots per inch). In offset lithographs each dot of colour is encircled by white space, but in the Giclee process inks are sprayed as droplets rather than dots, each droplet bleeds into the canvas or paper creating more of a continuous tone than dot pattern. The Giclee prints’ pigment type inks have been tested for longevity and outlast lithograph inks used. Also Pigment-based inks withstand light and humidity better than dyes.
Our prints will last longer while maintaining their original colours allowing archival museum-quality prints. This is truly the highest quality of art print-reproduction technique!
